Why a Labyrinth? (Or, do I really care about this blog?)

Welcome to my inaugural blog post. I have come to the conclusion that I do not talk about my life or my thoughts much. I'm not a very talkative person though, so I don't think this is much of a problem. At least not until people ask me to articulate what I am thinking. On the spot articulation is not something I am good at. I decided because of this that I should articulate my thoughts more often. Hopefully I will then be more prepared to speak those hard to word answers.

Why a labyrinth? Well, first I think life is a maze. Second, I like the word labyrinth better than maze. A maze is something a person might use to pass idle time, or to test their cognitive function. A labyrinth on the other hand is something much deeper. Typically one would find the word labyrinth attached to the word 'meditation' or 'prayer'. In each case, a labyrinth is merely the function by which a person would meditate or pray. This blog I will attempt to use in the same way; fumbling my way through life. It won't always be pretty, or even coherent, but it will be an attempt at honesty.

Now comes the part where you get to decide if you're going to read any further. So this is a labyrinth through which I will explore my life. Is my life interesting? Well I certainly don't think my life is boring, in fact I quite enjoy it. But will you, dear reader? My life revolved around a few key things. God, family and friends, work and fun. In that order.

I am a graduate of a school of theology and ministry. Technically if I worked at it enough, I could be ordained. God is obviously very important to my life. Will I shove my views down your throat? Good grief I hope not. I will be as respectful as I can while still being honest.

I am married. Happily, for over 4 years. No kids yet, but there will be. My wife is the most important person in my life. I still live around most of my family, and I love them. My friends, the few close ones I have, are amazing.

Work is recently a new thing for me. I am now a Drupal programming/developer. I'm still learning, but I am having a blast, and its a great work environment.

For fun, I play video games, I read books, I watch movies, and listen to music.

These are, essentially the things that make up my life, so they're going to be the topics of conversation. If these things interest you, then I hope my blog will be interesting to you too.
